Hi, For last few months I am trying access the data but a message is shown thereNo Plans have been setupcan some one help me to get a plane.thanks
Dear Planet Support Team,I hope this message finds you well. I previously had a student account with Planet, which allowed me to access and download satellite imagery at 3.5-meter resolution. However, I am currently encountering an issue where it states, "no plans have been set up."As a student, this access has been crucial for my academic research, and I would greatly appreciate your assistance in reactivating my student account. Could you please guide me on how to regain access to my student plan or inform me of any steps I need to take to renew my eligibility?Thank you for your time and support. I look forward to your response.Best regards,Laura Capie
2024 has witnessed an alarming increase in vegetation fires in the Venezuelan Amazon. Using Landsat satellite data and NICFI-Planet data we conducted a spatial analysis. The results revealed that an area of at least 12,250 km² was impacted by fires between March and May 2024, of which more than 80% corresponded to fires of moderate or high severity. In addition, when analyzing vegetation cover, we identified that herbaceous vegetation and agricultural areas were the most affected, followed by forests.Area burned, in hectares and by land cover/land use category, for the Venezuelan Amazon. The increase in the extent and severity of these fires is not an isolated phenomenon. Our findings suggest that this situation is fundamentally caused by human activities. On the one hand, uncontrolled activities such as the expansion of illegal mining and the agricultural frontier have progressively degraded the habitat, creating a favorable environment for the spread of fire. Tolerance, and in some cas
Dear Planet Explorer Team,I am a Planet Explorer user with a student account subscription. However, recently I have encountered a problem where my account is no longer accessible. I would like to know if the service has been discontinued or if it needs to be renewed. If it needs to be renewed, I would like to ask for your help and information on the steps or procedures required to reactivate my account. Additionally, I would like to confirm whether access to imagery is still available for student accounts. If it is, I would appreciate your assistance in restoring my access. Here I attach a screenshot of my accountThank you for your attention and support. I greatly appreciate the prompt response to this issue.Sincerely,Nadri
Dear Sir/Madam,I am currently utilizing PlanetScope imagery for the data analysis of my scientific research project. Nevertheless, I have noticed that the expiration date of my Education and Research Account has passed. I would like to inquire whether it is possible to apply for an extension of the account validity period. Moreover, at present, I am in great need of a substantial amount of data. Hence, I wonder if it would be feasible to increase the monthly download limit of my account. Thank you very much for your kind assistance.I am looking forward to your reply.
Hello!I'm presently engaged in data analysis for my master's dissertation, and I'm using PlanetScope imagery for this purpose. Nevertheless, I've become aware that my education and research account has already expired. I'm wondering if it's feasible to apply for an extension of this account?Thank you so much for your help.I'm eagerly anticipating your response.
Hi, I have downloaded RapidEye spectral reflectance image analytic products for 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019. No color balancing was applied to create a seamless color because it may alter the original reflectance value. Now, if you look at the attached images from 2013, it looks like there is a binary color difference. Also, there is a square shape in the 2011 images. If I use these images for biomass modeling, will this color difference cause a problem or error? If so, how can it be fixedin QGIS? Any suggestions in this matter are highly appreciated. Thank you.
Hello, I am currently considering my thesis work and would like to explore the topic of data fusion between Planet and Landsat 8 products.Could you please provide any insights, suggestions, or resources that could assist me in approaching this subject? Thank you very much for your help!
Hello! I am working with NICFI normalized SR basemaps for Meghalaya, India with data from 2022-2024. Meghalaya has lots of cloud cover, and the monthly basemaps often have areas obscured with clouds. Does Planet produce biannual or quarterly basemaps for years since 2020 that are possible to access? I haven’t seen any on the Basemaps Viewer, but I’m hoping to access them because I imagine that cloud cover might be less of a problem when aggregating across several months. Other thoughts on how best to deal with cloud cover would also be very welcome! Specifically, we are trying to measure forest cover over time. Thank you so much!
Dear NICFI Team,I recently read that the NICFI Satellite Data Program is set to continue only until September 2024, as mentioned here (https://www.planet.com/pulse/nicfi-satellite-data-program-partners-and-users-continue-to-deliver-conservation-climate-solutions-and-impacts/).Could you please confirm if there are plans to extend the program beyond this date? If so, could you share the anticipated timeline for the extension?Thank you for your assistance.Best regards,
📣Exciting news! We are delighted to announce that the NICFI Satellite Data Program is extended until January 2025.🌍🛰️🌱Follow the link for more information: https://www.nicfi.no/2024/09/17/nicfi-prolongs-public-access-to-high-resolution-rainforest-satellite-images/
Good afternoon,I am currently using PlanetScope imagery for data analysis in my master's dissertation. However, I have noticed that my education and research account has expired. Is it possible to request an extension for my account?Thank you very much for your assistance. I look forward to your response.
I wanted to find sugarcane growing regions, and then download images of the regions of interest. Would it be possible to do this through the Planet platform?
I need a history of satellite images but when I download only the monthly mosaics are there, is there a way to get the daily satellite images that make up the planet mosaics?
I would like to download quarterly basemaps over my area of interest. I would like data from the first available basemap (global_quarterly_2016q1_mosaic) to the last available (global_quarterly_2024q2_mosaic). I noticed that my query returns 714 unique basemaps for the first time period and 205 for the last time period. The area I get is also very different. I plotted the polygons that define the basemaps and in both cases they completly cover my AOI, but at obviously different resolutions. Do the basemaps share a common resolution across all time periods or have they changed at some point? Need to know if there is a bug in my code, or if this is a feature of the data itself. Thanks!
Hey guys!I'm preparing a presentation on how planet nanosatellites work and I needed some interactive materials, such as gifs, videos and dynamic diagrams. Can anyone provide it to me. I am very grateful in advance.Contact for shipping: rafael.luis@ufv.br
The Yucatán Peninsula houses the Maya Forest, the second-largest forested area in the Americas after the Amazon. This region plays a critical role in biodiversity conservation, carbon sequestration, and supporting forest-dependent communities. However, between 2001 and 2020, over one million hectares were deforested. Annual forest loss across Mexico's dry and humid tropical forests, predominantly in the Yucatán Península, is estimated up to 100,000 hectares a year.Yet, despite this loss, localized recovery and conservation initiatives, such as sustainable forest management and traditional land use practices, provide hope for the region's forest cover. In response to the need for accurate and reliable data to evaluate these changes, SICAMFOR (Sistema de Información sobre Cambios en la Cobertura Forestal) was developed by the NGO Consejo Civil Mexicano para la Silvicultura Sostenible (CCMSS) to monitor forest cover changes in the Yucatán Peninsula.SICAMFOR uses Collect Earth Online (CEO)
I have exceeded my download limit for the education and research plan; I am at 194%. Will it reset to 0% next month even though I have exceeded 100% this month?
I am unable to access Planet Basemaps. Anyone can help me?
How can I find rain precipitation and cloud liquid water content data with a spatial resolution of m2, not km2?Is that possible?
