Hello everyone,
I’m working on a project to assess water availability in semi-arid zones. I’d like to know best practices for using PlanetScope imagery to:-
Extract permanent and seasonal water bodies
-
Track seasonal changes
-
Integrate results into a GIS dashboard
Any recommended workflows, tools, or scripts would be greatly appreciated!

Hi
Be sure to check out courses on Planet University!
Here is a course that may be of interest to you:
Viewing a Flood Event with the Planet Explorer ArcGIS Pro Add-In
or if you are a QGIS user: Viewing a Flood Event with the Planet Explorer QGIS Plugin
Thank you @elyhienrich and the Planet team for the valuable recommendations.
I will explore both the ArcGIS and QGIS plugin-based workflows more deeply, especially in relation to humanitarian monitoring and flood-related change detection on the ground.
Looking forward to enhancing our technical engagement with Planet for evidence-based support in crisis regions.

Also interested in any ready-made PlanetScripts or plugins that worked well in dry or semi-arid regions.
Bonus if anyone has experience adapting these tools to North Africa or the Arabian Peninsulaكما أنني مهتم بأي أدوات جاهزة مثل PlanetScripts أو إضافات (Plugins) أثبتت فعاليتها في المناطق الجافة أو شبه الجافة.
وسيكون من المفيد جدًا إن كانت هناك تجارب لتكييف هذه الأدوات في شمال إفريقيا أو شبه الجزيرة العربية.Thank you again to everyone sharing their insights!
