Users of the NICFI Satellite Data Program can expect to see a pop-up reminding them of the extension of the Program until January 23rd 2025 when logging into their Explorer ️
hello, is there any word on another extension of the NICFI program? It expires in just two days (1/23/2025).
Hi @john_hargrove, PlanetScope Tropical Mosaics will no longer be a part of the NICFI Satellite Data Program starting on January 24, 2025 due to contract end. However, Planet and KSAT will temporarily extend users' access. You can check your email for more information - you should have received further information on this.
I hope this helps!
I’m sorry to hear that but thanks for the information. I did not receive any email about the end of the program or any temporary extension. Searching my inbox, I can see emails from you and from the NICFI Satellite Data Program Team, most of which pertain to surveys. When would it have been sent?
The email was sent on January 21. Thanks!
Good afternoon! I have just noticed that i cannot access my monthly mosaics that i get via a plugin in QGIS - is this, the fact that the program stopped in Jan, the reason why the plugin doesn’t give me these images? The article says that KSAT is helping to extend this access past January but why is the plugin not working?
Any information as to how to regain access (and in QGIS) would be much appreciated! This data (esp. the monthly mosaics) is so necessary for our work so hoping that a solution is worked out soon for allowing continued access. Follow up - i just logged into planet explorer and this kind message was on top. So they extended it to March 31 - so that explains… the next question is then what is the next step for us organizations on the frontline with limited resources but trying to save forest where this data is so essential!??
& learn how you can continue to maintain access beyond April 1st by clicking here.
Thanks @elyhienrich
Sadly we don’t have the funds currently for any subscriptions.. the loss of free access is a huge loss for us here! Planetscope mosaics were such a great service that NICFI provided for conservation organizations. HOping something can be set up to replace this.
