Hi Planet Community & Team,I am writing to inquire about the commercial licensing pathway and onboarding eligibility for a private agricultural insurance technology company based in Mainland China. Background & Intended Use Case:The team develops automated solutions for civilian crop damage assessment, index-based weather insurance verification, and yield estimation. They are evaluating the integration of PlanetScope high-frequency multispectral imagery (PSScene Surface Reflectance) via the Orders/Subscriptions API to monitor field-level vegetation anomalies during critical growth cycles.Key Clarifications Needed:1. Is there an active commercial contracting/licensing pathway available for purely private, non-governmental civilian enterprises operating in the agricultural sector in this region?2. What are the standard compliance screening (KYC / End-User Statement) requirements for an enterprise commercial account of this nature?3. What is the recommended channel or contact point

Sharing what we're building at ShieldNex and why it matters, in case anyone here is working on adjacent problems. In India, a large share of household wealth sits in a single plot of land. For farmers, small business owners, and especially NRIs living abroad, that plot is often the outcome of decades of savings. It is also wide open to slow, quiet encroachment — a boundary wall creeping over, a shed going up on a corner, a track cut through a field. The owner usually finds out long after the change is on the ground, and the legal fight that follows can drag on for years. Families lose the land, the money, or both.We built ShieldNex to close that gap.Every plot is monitored on a fixed cadence using trusted satellite imagery. Our AI change-detection engine compares images over time and flags new construction, boundary shifts, and land-use changes. The owner gets an alert within 72 hours of a detected change, along with a geo-referenced evidence pack designed to stand up as an electronic r

Dear Planet Team,My name is [removed by moderator] , and I am reaching out to you with great hope and a sincere request for assistance in an urgent humanitarian situation concerning the disappearance of my loved one, [removed by moderator] , a Ukrainian merchant seafarer.[removed by moderator] went missing on 5 July 2026 while serving aboard the merchant vessel M/V AETOS (IMO 9527960) during its passage through the Mozambique Channel in the Indian Ocean.Since his disappearance, search efforts have involved relevant maritime authorities and rescue coordination services, with support from Ukrainian diplomatic representatives and other organizations. Despite all efforts, there is still no confirmed information regarding his location.I understand that Planet’s satellite imagery is a commercial service. However, considering the exceptional circumstances and humanitarian nature of this case, I kindly ask you to consider providing assistance that could support the ongoing search efforts. We ar

Statistical API returns geometryPixelCount: null and empty data on trial account — entitlement questionHi team,I'm on a 30-day trial account (Insights Platform / Sentinel Hub) and running into a consistent issue with the regular Statistical API (/api/v1/statistics), while the Process API works correctly on the same account with the same OAuth credentials. What works: A Process API request for a Sentinel-2 L2A true-color image over a small bounding box in Telangana, India (78.6492, 18.0839, 78.6522, 18.0869) returns a real image successfully. What fails: A Statistical API request for the same bounding box, same collection (sentinel-2-l2a), and a valid recent date range (e.g. 2026-04-01 to 2026-04-30) always returns:json{ "data": [], "status": "OK", "geometryPixelCount": null}I've verified this both via my own backend code and directly through your Requests Builder tool using the identical parameters, evalscript (named outputs ndvi/dataMask per your documented format), interval (P30D),

I'm currently developing Canopia Agrotech as part of my Master's thesis in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and I'm exploring the next generation of satellite imagery for precision agriculture. The goal of the project is to monitor individual trees in woody crops (such as olive, almond, and pistachio orchards), detect early signs of stress or disease, and provide actionable insights that help farmers reduce losses and optimize field management. Most current agricultural platforms rely on multispectral imagery (e.g., Sentinel-2), which works well at the parcel level. However, my research is investigating whether combining higher spatial resolution, hyperspectral imagery, and AI could make reliable tree-level monitoring possible from satellite data.I'm curious:Does Planet currently offer hyperspectral imagery, or have plans to integrate it into its commercial products? Have you seen successful applications of hyperspectral satellite data for tree-level health monitoring in agriculture? Wou

We are experiencing a recurring 503 Service Unavailable error across both our SentinelHub WFS and WMS endpoints. The service becomes temporarily unavailable starting at 08:56 am (UTC+08), and this disruption is happening daily at the exact same time.Is anyone facing similar issues everyday?

On your website you say a subscription will allow you to order data from a catalog. When you pay your subscription fee, and spend a couple of hours going back and forth with support, you discover that your subscription doesn’t include any data, and you have to buy a whole other package with is substantially more to even use it. The user interface on your websites are terrible. More than that, you go to cancel a subscription and the first thing is says is ‘no refunds’, instead of asking what you might do better.Whoever is in charge of turning your data into products needs to completely re-evaluate their approach. I’m a senior software dev and if I can’t figure out what you have after a couple hours, then how would anybody with a less technical skillset approach you. More than that, you have no numbers a person can call aside form a random number from San Francisco that zero people respond to. A lost customer…

Hace semanas que he mandado una solicitud de presupuesto a través del departamento de ventas y no he obtenido respuesta. Existe alguna otra forma de poder hacer una solicitud?

Hello,I’m experiencing an issue with Planet basemap imagery that started about 2–3 weeks ago.Although my API key is active and working normally, all Planet basemaps have become blurry / out of focus, to the point where they are not usable for analysis. This affects all imagery, including older monthly mosaics that previously displayed correctly.Important details: The basemaps load normally (no connection or authentication errors) The issue affects all Planet imagery, not just recent data Even historical mosaics that were sharp before now appear blurred This behavior started suddenly around 2–3 weeks ago API access is valid and unchanged Issue persists across zoom levels I’ve attached an image to illustrate the problem. This makes me suspect a server-side issue, such as a change in tile resolution, WMTS configuration, or streaming settings, rather than a problem with the imagery itself.Has anyone else experienced this recently? Are there any known changes to Planet basemap servi

Our latest webinar in the Agile EO series shared a first look at an emerging agentic AI capability, now available in a private beta. Watch the full webinar recording to learn more and watch a live demo before you jump into testing the app yourself.  We had an incredible turnout at the live webinar and a high volume of questions. Below, we have consolidated and answered the top questions from the sessions, grouped by topic to help you find the information you need.  Questions & Answers General CapabilitiesQ: Does the AI only use Planet's satellite data?A: No. A core differentiator of our Agentic AI is its ability to synthesize Planet's satellite archive with publicly available information from across the internet. Q: Can you provide your own AOIs (Areas of Interest) for the agent to search over?A: Yes. You can do this by pasting data, drawing a polygon on the map with the area tool, or requesting a region in natural language, e.g. “find deforestation in the western half of the Amazo

Hi everyone,I’ve been working with Planet imagery via Planet Labs for a few small monitoring workflows (mainly land-use change and infrastructure tracking over time). From a technical perspective, everything is working fine — I can pull scenes, align dates, and compare changes without issues. The challenge I’m running into is more on the communication side. When I present findings to non-technical stakeholders, small but important changes (e.g., gradual land clearing or minor construction progress) are often not immediately obvious when shown as raw imagery or side-by-side GIS views. To make it easier to interpret, I’ve been experimenting with turning selected image sequences into short visual summaries. It works surprisingly well for quick communication, but I’m wondering if this is a common approach or if there are better practices within the Planet ecosystem

In our recent webinar with FarmQA, we explored how high-frequency satellite imagery is revolutionizing digital agronomy. From directed scouting to variable rate prescriptions, the integration of Planet’s data into the FarmQA platform allows agronomists and growers to make more informed, timely decisions. If you missed the live session or want to revisit the demonstrations, you can watch the full recording here.  Questions & Answers Q: What is the spatial resolution of the Planet data provided through FarmQA?A: Planet’s high-frequency imagery (PlanetScope) provides a resolution of approximately 3.7 meters per pixel. This level of detail is significantly higher than free options like Sentinel-2 (10 m), making it ideal for managing small plots and identifying sub-field variability. Q: How frequently is Planet’s data collected?A: The data is collected nearly every day. This daily cadence is a major advantage in cloudy regions, while other satellites might only pass every 7–10 days (and

We are unable to download the satellite imagery. The “Order” menu or the option to add items to the cart is not available on our account. We kindly request your assistance in resolving this issue.

Am I able to order any data under my current 30day free trial? My account seems to say I have some units to be able to download but I can not add anything to be ordered when looking at data. Thanks

With researchers at Arizona State University, Planeteers Keely Roth and @amy.rosenthal have just published a new study identifying and mapping live coral in a well-studied site in Hawai'i, USA. We tested our hyperspectral satellite, Tanager, against field observations and aerial high-fidelity hyperspectral, and the results are very promising:At 30 m resolution, the [GAO and Tanager] generated similar geographic patterns of live coral, macroalgal, and sand cover. Field validation indicated similar precision and accuracy of live coral cover estimates, and the ratio of live coral to macroalgal cover proved similar between sensors. Overall results indicate that live coral cover can be mapped with high-fidelity imaging spectroscopy from Earth orbit. With the advent of more spaceborne imaging spectrometers, a new era of live coral monitoring will be possible, filling a critical gap for repeated assessments of reef compositional change at a global level. What are the main findings?• Spaceborn

I am using the Planet Orders API to download PSScene analytic_sr_udm2 imagery for a time-series analysis, which involves ordering a large number of scenes. To reduce storage usage and download size, I would like to perform band math (e.g., NDVI, NDWI) and download only the derived band rather than all four analytic bands to my device. Is it possible to apply band math within the Orders API and download only the resulting single band? If not, what is the recommended Planet workflow to achieve this efficiently?Any guidance or examples would be appreciated.

Hi all,First post so forgive if the style is off. I use Earth observation data on large conservation regions (100k ha or more). As we identify hotspots or management units, I run into trouble referencing the location on the ground. The coordinates of course can guide the teams there, but in conversation a management unit ends up being “that spot by the river”. We need a way to name our conservation areas to help with communication.  We use H3 polygons to give each area a unique tag (see the viewer here: https://clupasq.github.io/h3-viewer/). This string is a great indexing tool to create identifiable and constant management units, and we see even the potential of AI agent integration. However these strings are not easy to remember and saying “How is 86b8c423 going?” is robotic.  The project What 3 Words (https://what3words.com/) claims to be “The simplest way to talk about location”. We are considering using this to change the name of our MU to a name like suceed.boots.icon. Then we ca

Hi, I'd like to see a weather balloon launch from the National Weather Service. I reached out to them on location and times of their launch, and I found Planet.com as a potential resource to be able to know if this action is possible to see from space. I launch balloons professionally and recreationally, and before subscribing in a paid way to Planet.com, I'd like to see if this is even possible, and the Planet Help Desk recommended I reach out to the community to see if anyone here has had any luck seeing a weather balloon. I was on the browser to find the lat/lon and time of launches, but the scene is low resolution, poor imagery, and I cannot add a day of a launch to the cart for order. I attached a screen shot of what it looks like to me. Here's the information from NWS and ABQ, too. Thank you for your help troubleshooting this scene."Balloons are generally launched just after 17:00Z and 23:00Z, but theoretically can be launched during a 90 min period (17:00Z to 18:30Z and 23:00Z t
