Query Regarding Vegetation indices

Hi!I have been trying to compute some vegetation indices suing 8band PS data. The generated NDVI his in its range of -1 to +1 but I am not able to get the suitable range for other indices like EVI, EVI2 etc. These indices are coming up in ranges of -4000 to +5000 with most of the data concentrated between 0 and 2. Could you please tell why is it happening?I am using Qgis for the computation of these indices.

Product type description in metadata?

Hello,I have a question on the PlanetScope Harmonized surface reflectance data product’s metadata. Where in the metadata can I find an indication that the product is ‘harmonized’, as opposed to non-harmonized surface reflectance image products?I know ‘harmonized’ is an option during product order but how can I verify that I indeed downloaded the desired type of imagery? How to access ARPS for my area of interest if i have planet subscription

Hi,I am a researcher in University of New South Wales. I have planet insight subscription and have linked my account to Sentinel hub through Planet insight platform. I am not able to access ARPS ( Analysis ready Planet scope) dataset for my analysis. The sentinel hub dashboard shows me that I am on trial and Also, under the plans it shows me Import of commercial/third-party data into Sentinel Hub is only available to subscribed Sentinel Hub users. So can you please let me know whether I can access ARPS images for my dataset ( Commercial dataset) or I need to subscribed to sentinel hub separately, as I have already subscribed to Planet scope. .

Interpreting /stats responses

Newby-question here: /stats returns often show millions of “counts” for my searches. for example:{ "count": 10181598, "start_time": "2016-01-01T00:00:00.000000Z" },Compared to the planet explorer GUI online results with what is (I assume) the same filters, this is an extraordinary difference. I imagine that some of the metadata type files are also included in the “count” in this example, but it still seems like a very high number for my search criteria (which included, for this example, included item_type, permission, publishing, cloud, daterange, and geometry filters all fairly strict). How should I interpret the “count” value from the endpoint response? Are there indeed over 10 million images that meet this criteria? Cannot find products in the create order step

What is the DEM used for orthorectification of PlanetScope images

We are using Planetscope images (psscene) for mapping surface displacement. Our work needs to know the DEM used in the orthorectification, so we can decide if we can un-orthorectify and re-orthorectify with the DEMs after an event. How can I get such information. Thanks,Chunli

Color difference

Hi, I have downloaded RapidEye spectral reflectance image analytic products for 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019. No color balancing was applied to create a seamless color because it may alter the original reflectance value. Now, if you look at the attached images from 2013, it looks like there is a binary color difference. Also, there is a square shape in the 2011 images. If I use these images for biomass modeling, will this color difference cause a problem or error? If so, how can it be fixedin QGIS? Any suggestions in this matter are highly appreciated. Thank you.

Updating Subscription Geometries

Just got word that a few farmers submitted inaccurate geometries for their fields (maybe 7 or 8 fields in all). I looked at the sentinelhub API and there doesn’t appear to a means for updating a subscription so assuming I need to delete these 7 or 8 subscriptions and then subscribe to them again with the correct geometries? If this is not the case, please let me know. Was thinking there might be a way to just update the geometry for each field subscription but maybe not. Thank you.

Can we make a dataset prepared with Planet imagery public?

Hi everyoneI have prepared a dataset with Planet imagery, which I accessed under the “Planet Education & Research Program”. I wrote a conference paper on it, which is now published: M. A. Missing Sentinel-2 L2A Collection 1 products

Hi,I originally raised this question on the Sentinel-Hub forum under the Sentinel@AWS category, but got no replies. Perhaps I’ll get more luck here? It seems that several S2 L2A products with baseline 05.00 (collection 1) are missing from the AWS bucket sentinel-s2-l2a.Let’s take as an example product S2B_MSIL2A_20220108T174719_N0500_R098_T13SER_20230205T190405:It is available on CDSE.But it is not on AWS, instead only the older version of the product, with baseline 03.01, is there (s3://sentinel-s2-l2a/products/2022/1/8/S2B_MSIL2A_20220108T174719_N0301_R098_T13SER_20220108T214244/)This is the case for many, if not all, collection 1 products from 2022.Are there any plans to add these products on AWS?Many thanksCarlo

Possible to access biannual normalized SR basemaps for recent years?

Hello! I am working with NICFI normalized SR basemaps for Meghalaya, India with data from 2022-2024. Meghalaya has lots of cloud cover, and the monthly basemaps often have areas obscured with clouds. Does Planet produce biannual or quarterly basemaps for years since 2020 that are possible to access? I haven’t seen any on the Basemaps Viewer, but I’m hoping to access them because I imagine that cloud cover might be less of a problem when aggregating across several months. Other thoughts on how best to deal with cloud cover would also be very welcome! Specifically, we are trying to measure forest cover over time. Thank you so much!

Finding basemap by mosaic_id but not by its name

I have a code that searches for the most recent basemap available.However, when I list all available mosaics, it only returns mosaics until the end of 2023. RGB band normalization from TIFF to JPEG in python yields weird hues & inconsistency

I am trying to use Python to convert a directory of 4 band PlanetScope Surface Reflectance TIFF tiles to RGB JPEGs so I can upload the smaller, easy to visualize JPEG files to LabelBox for manually labeling Arctic lakes as either ice covered or ice free.I have thrown together a script (relevant functions attached below) which reads in the bands from each of my downloaded TIFF files (I have around 100 right now) and normalizes each of them to 0-255 for conversion to JPEG. I have tried many different normalization algorithms, including histogram stretching, but all methods so far leave almost all my images with significant red, green or blue tint, which makes identifying which lakes are ice covered vs. ice free much more difficult (example of blue tint below.)Is there a way to automatically process RGB files for each of my scenes which will appear without these tints, more like the rgb preview images shown on Planet Explorer? (Or is there a way to directly download pre-processed RGB dir

KeyError: 'id' when placing API order

Hello! I’m replicating the code found at this link https://github.com/planetlabs/notebooks/blob/master/jupyter-notebooks/Orders-API/ordering_and_delivery.ipynb with my own set of images and am receiving the error in the screenshot below when trying to place the order. For reference, I’m trying to pull all available analytic_8b_sr_udm2 products that overlap with my specified area of interest.I’m unsure if this is a problem with the API, the images I’m trying to order or the way I’ve written the code. My code is exactly the same as the one linked, except I performed a paginated quick search first and then copy and pasted the resulting item id list into the request code. That item id list has 786 image ids in it. Any insight someone can provide about what is causing this error and how to fix it would be so appreciated!
