The basic license granted to me as an educator permits use of low resolution data ONLY, so not useful for the targeted use by my PhD students in 11 West African countries. Is there any explanation for this?

Upon looking into your account we noticed that it expired on November 23rd, we did update your account so you should have access restored.
In regards to the E&R basic license- it only contains PlanetScope and RapidEye imagery which is roughly 3-5 meters spatial resolution. The basic licenses are free for academic use and it does not include our SkySat (high resolution) imagery.
