On behalf of a customer: Some organizations have lots of users and want a simple way to manage their users. They want to be able to give or revoke access to the tasking dashboard. They want a tool in the Tasking Dashboard that enable them to manage the users and give them roles that would allow them to do different tasks. They are looking for different user roles, such as; Admin, User, Orderer, Receiver, Sharer, Read Only. In addition, they are looking for one super user that can revoke access to all users including the admin.
Would like the ability to set the UTC time displayed to follow a specific time zone in the Explorer interface. This will help many users more easily search for imagery in their own timezone and lead to a better user experience. See an exmaple here from Esri Inc - if Explorer settings could have an option to change Timezone display, similar to a drop down seen below.
On behalf of customer:Customer has to manually work out UTC to local time when selecting data in Planet Explorer
On behalf of customer: Scene misalignment
Scene misalignment near water. Issues with geolocation accuracy
Enable bulk downloads of “fulfilled” imagery from the Tasking Dashboard. The current process is cumbersome and requires collects to be download one-by-one in Planet Explorer.
On behalf of a customer: Currently tasking multiple tasks via API and has to build in a 20 second delay to enable a task to be ingested and to allow aggregation where possible.Reducing this delay causes large numbers of order rejections. They want to be able to place orders in bulk, simultaneously, without delays.
Recently, when creating a subscription for Planet’s ARPS imagery, an error occurred. This error was the result of the geometry self-intersecting at some point. It would be nice if the features manager warned users about any issues with the geometry before letting them reserve quota. In addition, apparently SentinelHub only accepts geometries with <=100 vertices, so a warning about that would also be good.
When tasking large AOIs it is a cumbersome and lengthy process to click each collect in the Tasking Dashboard, then go to Planet Explorer to download each of them. It would be easier if I could add all fulfilled collects to my cart right from the Tasking Dashboard and checkout. This would save me a lot of time.
Feature to reuse AOI or copy the AOI from previous order (Would really help with consistency when ordering new imagery of old locations)
Option to drop more than one pin on the map (this would make it way easier to draw an AOI that includes all coordinates of interest)
Option to easily copy the coordinates of previously ordered items. Right now when I try to copy-paste the coordinates shown under the “tools” section, it sends me to a totally different location and does not at all correspond to the item I ordered, for some reason?
Feature to copy individual item IDs from an old order (right now I can only copy all at once, it’s a bit of a hassle).
It would be helpful to expand the ability to automatically deliver data (especially ARPS) to bigger European and German cloud providers. It would be a great advantage if the delivery methods in Orders and Subscription API would support these cloud storage.
Until very recently, we were able to order Skysat archive imagery with no size restrictions. This was very important to me as I have an important number of very small AOIs on area already convered by frequent imagery.Unfortunately, Planet’s new Skysat credit system only offers to download images with a minimal size of 25 sqkm. We can’t even previsualize (zoom in) the image like we could in the past to be sure that the image contains the subject of interest.Even worse, we now have to pay full price (30 credits) for an archive image less than 30 days old.I liked to think of Planet as a collaborative tool for people working on the same field. We all contributed by tasking imagery on specific areas, that became instantly more accessible to other people from the same community.Unfortunately, this has changed.I think many people would greatly appreciate a more flexible way to order Skysat archives. Why not at the very least split the 25 sqkm in 15 so we could order 1 credit worth of data, no matter the age of the data ?I’d really appreciate your feedback on this. Best regards, Etienne
The geometry is valid and readable, but it turns out Batch Statistical doesn't like geometries with a Z-dimension (this constraint appears to be undocumented. In any case, it's not listed in the Input Geometry section of the docs).(Interestingly enough, regular statistical seems to be completely fine with a Z-dimension)After re-exporting my data without Z, I was able to successfully start the batch request. However, the error messaging is still not particularly helpful for deciphering the issue when a user inputs a geometry with a z-dimension within Batch Statistical API.
On behalf of customer:In Tasking Dashboard, when submitting a task, it would be helpful if we show the most recent image from the archive that covers that AOI before the task submission.
Hi,To expand our ability to send data to additional clod providers, it would be great if the delivery method in Orders and Subscription API would natively work with S3 compatible bucketsThanks,
When Ordering Images via Explorer, the amount of quota that will be consumed is displayed under the field “Estimated Area”. This helps users gauge how much quota they will consume. However, this field only reflects the values assuming “Premium Clipping” type, not “Preferred” or “Starter”. It would be best to reflect this value based on the clipping type defined in the plan.
When trying to log out and log in to a different account with the same browser, the workflow is to be sent back to the account that was previously logged in before. This has caused issues for customers with access to multiple accounts (commercial account/partner account) and resulted in unexpected quota.Current workaround: This can be resolved by clearing cache before switching or using incognito browser.
Would be helpful adding functionality for breaking a large order (>100 quads / scenes) into multiple small orders on our end that are within the 100 items limit.Having this functionality would help with download speed and customer satisfaction.
I want the quota for each order to be calculated based on the requested Area of Interest (AOI), allowing me to avoid charges for overlaps among item IDs covering the AOI, so I can manage costs accurately and prevent unexpected charges.
Currently there is no way to search for Stereo imagery via Explorer, or API.The ability to search for Stereo imagery would be helpful for customers interested in Stereo imagery over their AOI. Rather than having a custom script developed to do this for each request, having the ability to search via Explorer or API would be helpful.
We are currently experiencing delivery failures for our subscriptions. While the notification payload provides valuable information such as the subscription ID and failed item ID, it lacks the essential detail of the delivery failure reason. This information is crucial for us to effectively troubleshoot and resolve delivery issues.{ "schema_version": "0.0.1", "subscription_id": "5ba3b46d-5eb5-4ec5-a3c7-8faf6c906014", "topic": "delivery.failed", "name": "elegant dragonite", "result": { "item_id": "20240826_223522_66_24b7" }, "timestamp": "2024-08-27T04:09:45+00:00" } Proposed Enhancement:Include Failure Reason: Add a new field to the notification payload that clearly specifies the reason for the delivery failure. This could include but is not limited to: Item Errors: Invalid item format, missing required data, or processing errors. Provide Detailed Information: If possible, include additional details related to the failure reason to aid in troubleshooting. For example: { "id": "70455fea-1706-499d-8795-dd7c7293f900", "status": "failed", "properties": { "item_id": "20240826_223522_66_24b7", "item_types": [ "PSScene" ] }, "created": "2024-08-27T03:56:17.715664Z", "updated": "2024-08-27T04:09:45.144083Z", "completed": "2024-08-27T04:09:45.144083Z", "errors": { "reason": "Processing failed", "details": [ "could not collect necessary data for task (code: FAILURE_CODE_UNSCHEDULABLE Harmonize_v1)" ] }, "outputs": [] } We believe that incorporating delivery failure reasons into the notification payload will greatly enhance the usability and effectiveness of your service. Thank you for considering this feature request.
