Until very recently, we were able to order Skysat archive imagery with no size restrictions. This was very important to me as I have an important number of very small AOIs on area already convered by frequent imagery.
Unfortunately, Planet’s new Skysat credit system only offers to download images with a minimal size of 25 sqkm. We can’t even previsualize (zoom in) the image like we could in the past to be sure that the image contains the subject of interest.
Even worse, we now have to pay full price (30 credits) for an archive image less than 30 days old.
I liked to think of Planet as a collaborative tool for people working on the same field. We all contributed by tasking imagery on specific areas, that became instantly more accessible to other people from the same community.
Unfortunately, this has changed.
I think many people would greatly appreciate a more flexible way to order Skysat archives.
Why not at the very least split the 25 sqkm in 15 so we could order 1 credit worth of data, no matter the age of the data ?
I’d really appreciate your feedback on this.
Best regards,
Etienne
