On behalf of a customer:Ability to enhance imagery w/in Explorer
Currently, the “Archive” option only appears when selecting "point" as the area of interest, which makes it easy to overlook for users who create requests with “line” or “area”.It would be really helpful to add this earlier in the tasking flow, perhaps with a note or visual cue indicating that archive imagery is only available for point-based requests. Also, a guide or help doc outlining how to access and purchase archive images could go a long way in making this feature more discoverable and user-friendly.
on behalf of a customer:Interest in extended area-of-interest (AOI) monitoring, such as scheduling daily image captures for the upcoming few weeks or weekly image tasks for the following months. In these scenarios, the exact timing of the image may not be a primary concern. This approach prioritizes continuous monitoring objectives over assured tasking precision
In the Perform Spectral Analysis Tool for Hosted Data, allow users to combine spectral bands of choice to enhance imagery for bathymetry, geology and other features that use non-traditional band combinations. Provide an option for custom indices with band combinations.
Currently, it’s possible to do some spectral analysis on Planet Explorer such as NDVI, NDWI and etc. However, users are unable to download these analyses. To be able to download them, users need to use the API. It would be great if the user could perform these analyses and also download them on Planet Explorer.
On the dashboard and explorer page, provide a button to visit the community portal; I don’t see any reference to it anywhere. This idea is from @Aaron Moore.
I would like a box in the tasking dashboard to check if I am tasking for vegetation monitoring, such as forestry or agriculture, that adjusts the Skysat parameters (sun agle, nadir angle, etc...) automatically to maximize the quality of Skysat imagery being collected for vegetation specific use.
Hello Planet Team,In our organization, we use Planet Explorer as a key part of our processes, and we have identified a critical limitation in the Usage Reports. For each download, we follow a specific naming structure that includes key identifiers linked to our database. However, when downloading the Usage Reports from the plan information, we noticed that they do not include the "Order Name" field, which creates significant challenges in tracking and managing our downloads.Currently, we are forced to manually identify order names and do so account by account for each user, as we cannot find a consolidated view of all orders in one place. This is not a sustainable solution and negatively impacts our operational efficiency. We believe this improvement is fully feasible, as the Tasking Dashboard module already allows for downloading complete reports, including the "Order Name" field, which has been extremely helpful for our internal processes. We would greatly appreciate your prompt attention to this request, as having this functionality would significantly enhance our image management and improve the analysis of key variables in our projects. We look forward to your feedback. This solution would make a substantial difference in our operations.Best regards, Ángela VargasTechnical AnalystProcalculo
Hi!I am trying to download some images I did in the same area, but I get this message. Does anybody have any clue about how to solve this? Thanks!
On behalf of a customer: There are several reasons for invalid capture, but there is lack of clear infromation about it in Tasking dashboard.
For SkySat tasking area order, if an AOI is not fully captured by the end of TOI, a status will be “EXPIRED” but quota will be deducted based on content delivered. This status can sometimes cause confusion, because user would not think that quota has been consumed just by looking at a status. It would be great if a status was a little easier to undestand. For example, “Partially Fulfilled” .
Sometimes customers might accidentally order a whole scene instead of their AOI because they forgot to clip. This lead to overuse of their quota or they use much more quota than they intended. A small pop up as a reminder that they did not clip might be beneficial.
Trigger a pop-up warning or error message if an AUM customer tries to download a scene without applying the clipping line in the script?
On behalf of a customer:With several subscriptions to the same package (ex. AUM).Each user needs new org and new user ID created so contracts do not overlap. This results in multiple API Keys, keeping track of each API key per contract/ org is causing confusion.
On behalf of customer: desire to have 1 API key for all AUM expansions
on behalf of customer:Frequently having to decline hazey imagery
On behalf of a customer:The presence of Haze disrupts the ability to derive insights from SkySat and the new approach to separate clouds and haze may result in less immediately usable tasks,
On behalf of a customer:When an org has access to both SkySat and PlanetScope. Users that need to have access to SkySat need to be in the same org. IF users of that org need to have restricted access to download quotas, then they have to either choose between the org with access to SkySat Tasking or be in the org with the limited download quota. The Org admin has to spend time figuring out who needs to have access to quota and whether should have to SkySat or PlanetScope’s download quota.
Channeling a pain point for many of our E&R customers: not being able to set up individual quota limits it’s a major drawback as well as a risk for many large accounts with many users (particularly campus and large departments). One of my customers said " we are deeply concerned that 1 student could consume all the quota of the whole campus/ department , especially if using APIs”.Because of this, all our E&R customers would greatly benefit from being able to set up individual users quota limits! 🚀
On behalf of a customer: Request to have an internal approval process for imagery that is enabled by different user roles. Looking for a user role that would allow a user to request tasks, but then needs approval before the tasks are submitted.
On behalf of a customer: Some organizations have lots of users and want a simple way to manage their users. They want to be able to give or revoke access to the tasking dashboard. They want a tool in the Tasking Dashboard that enable them to manage the users and give them roles that would allow them to do different tasks. They are looking for different user roles, such as; Admin, User, Orderer, Receiver, Sharer, Read Only. In addition, they are looking for one super user that can revoke access to all users including the admin.
Would like the ability to set the UTC time displayed to follow a specific time zone in the Explorer interface. This will help many users more easily search for imagery in their own timezone and lead to a better user experience. See an exmaple here from Esri Inc - if Explorer settings could have an option to change Timezone display, similar to a drop down seen below.
