Hi,

I am trying to use the surface reflectance product of psb.SD instruments.

I found there are two versions of the SR products:

8 bands: _3B_AnalyticMS_SR_8b.tif

4 bands:_3B_AnalyticMS_SR.tif

I assume the RGB and Nir  bands from the two files are the same (assume they are exactly the same in SR values). 8-band product has 4 more extra bands.

best,
Haiyan

Hi @Haiyan Huang,

I want to make sure I am understanding your question correctly. To my understanding, you want to know the difference between the 4 and 8 bands and also want to understand the difference in the NIR and RGB bands within the different satellites? If this is the case hopefully the following information will help, if not please let me know how I can help you further.

The following bands is what is included in the 4 bands:

  • Red, Green, Blue (RGB)
  • Near Infrared (NIR)

The following is what is included in the 8 bands:

  • Red, Green, Blue (RGB)
  • Near Infrared (NIR)
  • Coastal blue = near-shore bathymetry
  • Red-edge = vegetation stress & water quality
  • Yellow = crop and land cover classification
  • Green 1 = plant health

The following image shows the wavelengths captured:

The 4 band SR is the 8 band without those additional bands :)

Let me know if this answered your question!
