When downloading Sentinel-2 L1C and L2A data from AWS public datasets, has the "Requester pays" been removed?

I am downloading Sentinel-2 L1C and L2A data from AWS public datasets, transferring approximately 1TB of data monthly from AWS to my office. According to the "Requester pays" policy, I should be charged for "data transfer fees from AWS to the internet".However, the AWS bill I received does not include this charge. Specifically, the data transfer metrics for the Frankfurt region show 0GB.My question is: Are users no longer required to pay data transfer fees? Has Planet assumed responsibility for these costs? Thank you.Additionally, my download command is: aws s3 cp requester s3://sentinel-s2-l2a/... The download succeeds without adding "--request-payer" to the command.

Many Sentinel-2 L2A are missing in the last week

L1C can be found on the eo-browser but the corresponding L2A is missing on a wide area (globally i believe).

Changes of the access rights to L1C bucket at AWS Public Datasets (Requester Pays)

To all AWS Public Datasets users of S2 L1C data. This thread will be used to communicate changes happening to the S2 bucket. As we expect to gather some feedback from power users in this thread, we might change the approach a bit during the discussion in ongoing. The summarized and harmonized description will be available on this FAQ link. End of June we will set S2 L1C bucket as “Requester pays” similarly as it is for S2 L2A and S1 GRD. This move is required to allow further increase of the shared data - for continuation of Sentinel-2 L1C coverage, to accommodate global rollout of Sentinel-2 L2A and to host European and then global Sentinel-2 analysis ready mosaics. How might this affect your workflow: If you are using the data within AWS EU (Frankfurt) region using S3 protocol, there will be practically no change. There will be some very small additional charge incurred to your account, related to “GET, SELECT and all other Requests”, currently at 0.43$ per 1 million requests. If you

Transition from Sentinel Hub EO Browser to Copernicus Browser - 2 questions

I have a browser based webapp that allows users to jump directly to a location in the EO Browser at specific zoom/date (known to be visited by Sentinel-2).This allows them to visually assess the utility of Sentinel-2 product without the barriers of knowing about calendar or tiles or having to do a login (anonymously) - to see public data.I now note that this EO Browser convenience is going away: If the user persists and clicks Use Anonymously they are met with a second modular block:where they must click Stay in EO Browser. My questions are thus:Can Sentinel-2 data be viewed in Copernicus browser anonymously? Can one deep-link to such a location/date/zoom specified view in Copernicus browser?

How to access ARPS for my area of interest if i have planet subscription

Hi,I am a researcher in University of New South Wales. I have planet insight subscription and have linked my account to Sentinel hub through Planet insight platform. I am not able to access ARPS ( Analysis ready Planet scope) dataset for my analysis. The sentinel hub dashboard shows me that I am on trial and Also, under the plans it shows me Import of commercial/third-party data into Sentinel Hub is only available to subscribed Sentinel Hub users. So can you please let me know whether I can access ARPS images for my dataset ( Commercial dataset) or I need to subscribed to sentinel hub separately, as I have already subscribed to Planet scope. .

Cannot find products in the create order step

Hi,I'm currently new to EO Browser. I want to order some products in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam, but every time I tried to create an order with a product I just queried, it just showed an error '404 error Product not found.' Detail is in this GG doc link: Details on how I ordered my product.I also posted a topic on the Sentinel Hub forum, but it took really long for someone to reply to me: Topic: Cannot find products in the create order step.I really need someone to help me on this problem. Missing Sentinel-2 L2A Collection 1 products

Hi,I originally raised this question on the Sentinel-Hub forum under the Sentinel@AWS category, but got no replies. Perhaps I’ll get more luck here? It seems that several S2 L2A products with baseline 05.00 (collection 1) are missing from the AWS bucket sentinel-s2-l2a.Let’s take as an example product S2B_MSIL2A_20220108T174719_N0500_R098_T13SER_20230205T190405:It is available on CDSE.But it is not on AWS, instead only the older version of the product, with baseline 03.01, is there (s3://sentinel-s2-l2a/products/2022/1/8/S2B_MSIL2A_20220108T174719_N0301_R098_T13SER_20220108T214244/)This is the case for many, if not all, collection 1 products from 2022.Are there any plans to add these products on AWS?Many thanksCarlo

Hello everyone, as I am downloading scenes for analysis of area I study in my diploma thesis, there has started to occure an error “There was an issue fetching data for AWS_LTML2” when I click on Search button. I need to download data from Landsat 4-5 TM, until now it worked perfectly fine. Request failed with status code 500

I have tried multiple times to get Airbus satellite imagery from multiple locations, yet i still receive the same error every time. can you please explain to me a way to solve the problem? What's the best way to add Sentinel imagery into web app (created with arcgis sdk js)?

I’m trying to add imagery to a map element created with arcgis sdk for js 4.X. PlanetScope cloud filtering

Hi there,I recently created a collection of PlanetScope imagery using the Planet Subscriptions API and applied a 50% cloud filter. I’m now using that collection in the Statistical API and would like to only consider imagery with 20% cloud cover (i.e., 80% clear pixels). Let me know if you have any tips for filtering these data.Thank you!

How to Deliver Planet Data to Sentinel Hub

​If you want to use Planet data with Sentinel Hub tools and APIs, then you need to first deliver data to a Sentinel Hub collection. This post is a primer on how to deliver data to Sentinel Hub collections. First though, what is a collection? A collection is a way of organizing imagery on Planet Insights Platform so that it can be used in APIs such as the Catalog, Process, Statistics, and OGC APIs.  Collections consist of imagery that is all the same sensor and format.  This means that a collection can’t mix PlanetScope and SkySat, or 8-band and 4-band imagery. For some datasets, collections are ready to be used, such as those for public missions like Sentinel and Landsat. However, for Planet data products, you must first order your data and send it to your own personal collection.  Below are the different ways to accomplish this.Note: To do any of these workflows, you will need a Sentinel Hub account.  All Planet customers can create Sentinel Hub accounts and receive limited access at

Recommendations for COG / tile sizes for BYOC?

I’m working on getting an interesting derived dataset into Sentinel Hub, that’s distributed as 2600+ non-COG geotiffs, totaling 26gb, but only 834 mb zipped up. So it’s not well compressed - if I process those with ‘deflate’ then it comes down to 11gb. See https://zenodo.org/records/10907151 for the data.I’m working with a few of these types of datasets, some with more data, and am mostly just wondering how I should reason about putting it all in one COG vs many small files / COG’s that I’d register as ‘tiles’? Like at the extreme I could take these 2600 geotiff’s, turn them into COGs and make each of them a ‘tile’? But it seems like that probably won't work all that well as there’s no dataset-wide ‘overview’ (unless SH generates something like that? At the other end I could try to put them all into a single COG, maybe it ends up 15 gigabytes or something? With overviews it seems like it should perform decently, and is easier conceptually.But then I’m curious if there’s an upper limit

I am not much of a Python programmer and haven’t used this GET API before, so I keep running into basic questions. Unable to install byoc-tool

I’m trying to get started with the byoc-tool, but seem unable to to even get it built. I’m on OS/X (13.6.6) with apple silicon, and just installed docker and java. Docker version is 26.1.3, build b72abbb6f0. What is a deployment'? Technical explanation'

Hi! I’m a student getting into satellite imagery for my thesis. Here (https://docs.sentinel-hub.com/api/latest/data/) I read that… " Sentinel Hub API is available in several deployments." What is exactly a “deployment”? Is it a set of satellites available in a certain region? Or is it much more? How would you define it in a technical way? I know this could sound more like a lexical question, but I need to understand it better to explain it in the best way possible in my essay. Thanks a lot for your help.

WMS/WMTS on ArcGIS Online

Is anybody else having any issues with adding WMS/WMTS services to ArcGIS Online? I am able to add a WMS service and it appears in the content but no imagery is shown. I have no issue with adding these WMS/WMTS to QGis, ArcPro, or ArcGIS Portal running on Azure. Thanks, Christian

How to “remove” the clouds in an NDVI image AND return as 1 band

I am trying to download NDVI as 1 band with a Cloud mask. Esssentially I am trying to combine these two scripts and need some assistance. How to get evalscript that calculates NDVI for each available satellite repectively

in the project i am working on, i should calculate the ndvi for all satellite missions. i know how to structure and build the request, but it seems the evalscript through which the ndvi is calculated differs according to the selected satellite mission. my question is, can i refer to EO Browser and copy the evalscript from it? i mean, one can check the evalscript used in the latterly mentioned link, can i simply copy the evalscript from it and paste it in my code?! is that possible

Download multiple images causes rate limit exception

I am using process API [Preformatted text](https://services.sentinel-hub.com/api/v1/process) but I have to fetch the data for 500 places in less than 30 seconds. So according to my knowledge, SentinalHub doesn’t support multiple (png/jpeg) images in 1 request. So we have to loop the coordinates and hit the API for each image. Problem: The issue is API fails and returns the Rate Limit exception. Is there any way through which we can hit 500 requests in less than 30 sec, or hit a simple call and get 500 images?
