The Geoinformatics Department at the Geology Institute, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, invites you to participate in our cutting-edge research project titled:
"Geoecological Monitoring, Condition Assessment, and Rehabilitation of Landscapes Affected by the War in Ukraine."
Research Objectives:
-
Damage Assessment: Conduct a scientific evaluation of the scale and nature of damage in post-conflict urban and agricultural landscapes, identifying both immediate and long-term environmental impacts.
-
Reclamation and Rehabilitation: Develop strategies for the sustainable rehabilitation of damaged lands, focusing on the rational use of resources, landscape restoration, and rebuilding of infrastructure.
-
Integration of Geomatics Technologies: Employ state-of-the-art geospatial tools, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Digital Terrain Models (DTM), and LiDAR, to accurately assess landscape damage and guide recovery efforts.
-
Innovative Technologies: Establish advanced algorithms for data collection and processing, utilizing cloud computing and machine learning for geoimage analysis, visualization, and efficient data interpretation.
This project offers a unique opportunity to contribute to vital research that combines geoecology, technology, and sustainable land management to address the environmental challenges posed by war.
