In Canada in the prairie provinces land is surveyed using the Dominion Land Survey and this survey is used by government, agriculture, environmental entities and , Mining and NGOs to locate land by quarter section.  Therefore for Saskatchewan - It would be handy to have this as a searchable base layer to locate land parcels.  It is available for around $200 Can from Saskatchewan Information Service Corp
