Hi Planeteers, this week I saw that those of us with access to Planet data through NASA’s CSDA program also have access to Tanager data, which is AWESOME. Also, congrats on yesterday’s successful launch of Tanager-2! My question is, having reviewed the available Tanager-1 scenes available in Planet Explorer, I notice that not all of the data have the surface reflectance products available.

Is there documentation on how Planet converts its TOA radiance products to surface reflectance estimates, since that would be useful for processing those scenes (granules) for which surface reflectance products are not yet available? Or, alternatively, do you intend to process all of the TOA radiance scenes to surface reflectance? Thank you!

Hi Emil! You are right, we do not automatically process for SR for all of the Tanager tasks. We do however, have a Surface Reflectance ATBD you can reference, located here: https://planet.widen.net/s/jbptx8fqqq/planet-userdocumentation-tanagerl2a

Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
