In the April Agile EO episode, we introduced Single Order Tasking with our partners at SkyFi. Single Order Tasking allows you to fulfill ad hoc projects or individual tasks with a 100% online, pay-as-you-go self-service portal. Watch the webinar on-demand now or jump right in and get started with Single Order Tasking.
Below are answers to common questions and some questions that we weren’t able to get to during the live event. Our hosts, Mark Jeffrey, Partner Business Manager at Planet, and Claire Fundingsland, Customer Experience Director at SkyFi, have provided answers, plus resources to learn more.
Question: What happens if my image is cloudy?
Answer: For Flexible Tasking, we guarantee a maximum cloud cover of no more than 15%. For Assured Tasking, you are booking the satellite to capture an image at a specific date and time, so we recommend checking the forecast prior to booking to ensure a clear day as we do not guarantee a maximum cloud coverage for assured tasking.
Question: How frequently can I task an image on the self service platform?
Answer: As much as needed! The SkySat constellation has a revisit rate of 5-7x per day, so there are ample opportunities to capture images as needed.
Question: Can I set up a recurring tasking order?
Answer: Yes! We currently allow for monthly, quarterly, or biannually recurring orders.
Question: What is included in the deliverable from the self service platform?
Answer: Deliverables include a 16-bit TIFF file, a PNG, and the metadata for the capture.
Question: How does the Single Order Tasking experience differ from ordering through the Planet Tasking dashboard?
Answer: Single Order Tasking allows users to pay-as-you-go with no annual contract or commitment. It is ideal for users to gain quick access to order individual tasks for ad-hoc projects through a 100% digital experience.
Question: Which countries does Single Order Tasking cover?
Answer: Single Order Tasking is available globally.
Question: Is there a minimum order size for AOI or cost?
Answer: The minimum order size is 25 square kilometers or $300.
Question: Can you access SkySat Archive through this portal?
Answer: At this point, SkySat Archive is not available via Single Order Tasking.
