Hello,

We noticed that we exceeded our limit of processing units on Sentinel, which seem a bit extensive, compared to our total area of interest (4308 ha). Although our project is still in the testing period, we already had to purchase 2 top ups (since we started this subscription on 25 January this year). In our preliminary discussions to conclude the contract with Sinergise, we were advise that the Sentinel Hub - Basic subscription, annual + PlanetScope - 4308 hectares, annual, will suffice for our needs (automatically extracting info regarding NDVI, moisture index, SWI and LST using API and display it only for our polygons on our web app).

The developer says that they have to load data in smaller polygon because sentinel hub does not take complete polygon because they of of our plots’ size.

Can this really be the problem of this usage of data at an extensive volume?

Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for the question, you can find out a lot of information about your usage in your dashboard following this link. Here you will see your usage is highest requesting the default Sentinel-2 WMS layers in your account.

Using this information, you should be able to optimise your workflows. If you still require some more support, please feel free to reach out to us and we can help to support you.

Hi

Can you help us understand why we have more catalog request than the processing units allocated through the subscription?

Thank you.

Hi,

I don’t see anything unexpected here. Catalog API is only used to search the data catalogues so compared to any pixel related processing (e.g. Process API) the processing units are much lower.

For more information on the relationship between processing units and your number of requests, please refer to the FAQs on our pricing page here.
