Updates to Public Data Availability for: LandSat8, MODIS, Sentinel-2, Sentinel-1, APIs, and Planet Explorer

On July 31, 2024, public data will no longer be available through the Planet API, Planet Explorer, or Planet Integrations. This change allows Planet to improve your experience by streamlining access to public data through single-source Sentinel Hub services.

• If you do not access Landsat8, Sentinel-2L1C, Sentinel1, and MODIS data through Planet API, Planet Explorer, or Planet Integrations, you do not need to make any changes to your account. There is no impact on your workflows or ability to access orthorectified imagery through PSScene, SkySat, and RapidEye. 
• If you access Landsat8, Sentinel-2L1C, Sentinel1, and MODIS data through Planet API, Planet Explorer, or Planet Integrations, please register for Sentinel Hub 6 Month Access for Planet Customers to access this data.
