For access to satellite data via Sentinel Hub APIs, you can take a look at our webinar on Process API: it should have enough content get you started.

As for CO2 absorption, I am no specialist, but I can point you to Sentinel-5 P data, as this satellite is designed to perform atmospheric measurements and measures various trace gases. You can have a look at the custom script repository to see if you can adapt any Evalscripts for your specific use-case.
