Purchase of area under management

Hello,

We are familiarizing ourselves with the new Planet Insights platform, pricing and subscriptions, before this we’ve always used Sentinel Hub. We have a couple of questions:

 

  • Since we already have a Basic subscription I think the best path for us is to omit the preselected packages, which was the first thing we were looking at, and go to the next page where we can buy sq. km. for the area under management plan. Is that the best way forward for us since we have a plan or what would be the advantage of the preselected package?
  • As far as we understood, the area under management plan lasts 12 months right? And this doesn’t have anything to do with the platform subscription correct? Because our subscription expires on December but if we buy a plan now we should have that area available until June 27 I guess.
  • We also had direct contracts with Planet for area under management which are valid until August based on what I see in the account even though I think it should have been until May of this year not sure why it says it’s still valid. If we purchase AUM I want to be sure that that will be a new contract and won’t somehow be added to that August contract. Not sure if we need to do something specifically on our side.
  • We have 2 workspaces with two active contracts until August as I mentioned, one for tier 2 and one for tier 3 (old tier 2 and 3, now most of latam is tier 3). These 2 workspaces have as product “Tiered Area Under Management” and as product type “Planet Sensor Data”. Would these two conflict somehow with the new AUM or can we purchase without any issues?
