Choosing the Right AUM Plan (and Pricing) for Distributed Agricultural Parcels in Canada

Hi everyone,

I’m working on an agricultural monitoring project using Planet imagery.

I have around 5,000 agricultural parcels, each about 1 hectare, all located within Canada but distributed across different cities (not concentrated in one area).

Here’s my situation and a few questions I’d love some clarification on:

1. From what I understand, the Area Under Management (AUM) model seems to be the best fit for this type of distributed monitoring. Could you please confirm if this is correct for my use case (5,000 scattered parcels across Canada)?

2. The parcels will not all be added at once. Instead, they’ll be added gradually — for example, about 20% in the first month, another 20% in the second month, and so on.

How does the AUM model handle this scenario?

Is the total area dynamically recalculated as new AOIs are added?

3. What is the spatial resolution of the imagery available under this model (e.g., PlanetScope vs. SkySat)?

4. Lastly, could someone please share information about the exact or approximate pricing for this scenario — monitoring around 5,000 hectares (50 km²) distributed across Canada under the AUM model?

Any guidance or examples from other users who have worked with distributed agricultural parcels would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help 🙏
