Hi folks!
From the available documentation
https://assets.planet.com/docs/Planet_PSScene_Imagery_Product_Spec_letter_screen.pdf
I understand that the PlanetScope data is distributed with a CubicConvolution type resampling.
I was wondering if a different choice, nearest neighbor resampling, was possible in order to preserve the original value of the image pixels.

Thank

Hello! My name is Mariana Curdoglo and I am the Product Manager for PlanetScope images!

Planet choose to use cubic convulsion for PlanetScope imagery from the beginning as that was considered the best option. We use cubic convolution for our other remote sensing data including SkySat and RapidEye images, and at the moment do not plan to change the resampling kernel.

If you wanted to preserve the original value of the image pixels and use another resampling kernel, you should use our basic product outlined in section 3.2 PlanetScope Basic Analytic Scene Product Specification in the above link. The image asset names are basic_analytic_4b and basic_analytic_8b. Read more about it on here - https://developers.planet.com/docs/data/psscene/#available-asset-types
